Geoff Achison
Equal parts New Orleans Funk, driving Blues, jazzy Soul and outback Mojo, this is southern blues/roots music from deep south Australia. Songwriter Geoff Achison invokes the spirit of the great blues & soul artists to create his engaging original sound he calls “Bluesic.” He’s been chosen one of the “Top Ten Hottest New Guitarists” by Guitar Player Magazine and is listed as one of the “Top 50 Australian Guitarists of All Time.” He’s been an 18 year Guitar Instructor at Jorma Kaukonen's (Hot Tuna, Jefferson Airplane) Fur Peace Guitar Ranch and an exciting festival favorite featured on PBS, NPR, the BBC and CNN. Frequent tours of the US have seen him playing with folks like The Allman Brothers, George Porter, Jr., The Wood Brothers, Hot Tuna, Col. Bruce Hampton, Randall Bramblett, Delbert McClinton, John Mayer, and many others.
Geoff is based in Melbourne, Australia and tours the United States, Europe, the UK and Asia. He is available as a full band or a solo acoustic show.
